Band of Brothers 506th PIR Para-Dice Trucker Cap

£35.00
The patch. The design was created in the summer of 1942 at Camp Toccoa, Georgia, where the 506th trained and ran up and down Currahee Mountain. It was approved in April 1943 and worn on the left jacket pocket, but only briefly. Once the 506th joined the 101st Airborne Division in June 1943, regimental insignia were no longer authorised, which makes the para-dice one of the rarer pieces of the regiment's identity.

The regiment. The 506th jumped into Normandy on D-Day, landed in Holland for Operation Market Garden, held the line at Bastogne and finished the war at Berchtesgaden. Its Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, became world-famous through Band of Brothers.

This retro Trucker Cap by Yupoong carries the famous "para-dice" pocket patch of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, the regiment of Easy Company, embroidered on the front panel. A diving eagle attacks out of a parachute canopy, flanked by dice showing 5 and 6, joined by a bold black 0 to spell out 506.
