Bren LMG T-Shirt

from £24.00
The Bren LMG, the backbone of British and Commonwealth infantry firepower in the Second World War.

The Bren was a British adaptation of the Czechoslovak ZB vz. 26. Its name combines Brno, where it was designed, and Enfield, where the Royal Small Arms Factory built it. It entered British service in 1938, chambered for .303 British, and was instantly recognisable by its curved 30-round top-mounted magazine. With its quick-change barrel, it was accurate, reliable and well loved by the soldiers who carried it.

Every British infantry section was built around its Bren. It fought from Dunkirk to North Africa, Italy, Normandy, Arnhem and Burma. It served on as the 7.62 mm L4 for decades after the war, still in use in the 1990s.
