Thompson M1A1 T-Shirt

£24.00
The pre-war Thompson was a beautifully crafted SMG, but it was slow and expensive to make. So in 1942 the US Army adopted a simplified version: the M1, then the M1A1, with a fixed firing pin, simple sights, no finned barrel or compensator, and 20- and 30-round box magazines in place of the famous drum. It kept what mattered: the hard-hitting .45 ACP round.

The M1A1 went ashore at Normandy with American infantry, jumped with the 82nd and 101st Airborne, climbed Pointe du Hoc with the Rangers, and fought through Italy and the Pacific. British and Commonwealth forces carried Thompsons too, from Commandos to airborne troops, the Thompson has rightly earned it's place as one of the greatest SMGs of all time.
